OK been thinking long and hard about this post and I came up with this.
To the people who say autism is just a phase. It’s the worst advice ever! It’s not going to magically disappear overnight and the kid will suddenly say hey I’m not autistic anymore or the nv kid will suddenly speak. Autism is a life long developmental condition. LIFE LONG! kids grow into adults who learn to adapt to surroundings given enough positive reassurance. Hey for a while I never thought I would be able to hold down a job and now look at me 2 months into a retail job. All I needed was positive reassurance. We know it’s not always Sunshine and rainbows and there are times when life gets physically exhausting but we can get through it. We just need enough people to believe in us and enough implemented strategies. So that when we do melt down we can do so safely. And If autism is a phase we grow out of. What about those who don’t get diagnosed until they are in adulthood. Should we ignore autism or should we ignore your ignorance at not recognizing every human has a unique program and some programs may just have the same category. But they all run differently
