I am not pro-BBC but when I saw this video on one of my favorite youtube channels Pro Documentary. I simply clicked it because it’s Autism.
I have the audio playing in the screen next to me whilst I write this. It is a really informative show. I found the people they brought into the show to be amazing and very charismatic. I love Kenny he is so smart and very sweet, he doesn’t claim his super ability to recall the day of any date given to be his autism, he says it’s a South African thing which I thought was very cute. He actually taught me something about the world. In every century every 28 years the cycle (patterns) repeat. Only 10% of people have a similar gift to Kenny. But 1/3 of autism have a special ability. Autistic people see detail rather than context and I have to agree. There are some people who have been so intensely focused on the detail they do not see the world around them and I am proud to say I do it in work, sometimes to my detriment. Its a recommended watch for the “Neurotypicals” It helps give people an insight into what life is like being autistic. Beware you will fall in love with Jules. I wanted to call this post “People’s Brains are different” but I am not sure how many of you would have got what that meant. 1/3 through the show now. Sally and Ann’s stories remind me of my diagnosis. Though mum told me and I have to laugh at this, when I was a kid and I had a doll house my perception of where things went was completely ordered. Now my life is utter chaos. Those completely ordered little things are no longer in place. I wish I could go back to my childhood and keep the order. Slightly wish I had a bit more OCD. but not to the extent where it would be a problem. All the “NT’s” have an extra social sense which we Autists don’t have. Watch this video from 19:30 https://youtu.be/DqP1h72SmQM?t=19m30s and I want you to tell me what you think is going on. OK GO! What I think is going on is that that the smaller triangle is being bullied out of the pen by the bigger one. Did you think the same, comment below?
I love Sarah and Keith they are “goals for me” It is so cute that they say you are my required amount of social contact. In my relationships that’s how I feel, I get absorbed in relationships and they are my required amount of social interaction. Sad but true.
We know Einstein was autistic but was Issac Newton? This spectrum can be from 0 – 50 but most are at a 32 on the spectrum. Though these numbers are not a diagnosis you only get a diagnosis from a centre. Though it may be witheld for some reason if you do not need to be aware. Though I think people do need to know why you are that little bit quirky, I am glad I got the diagnosis, it helps me read the world better. If I don’t understand something it helps me realise someone has not been very clear in how they direct me.
Please watch it and let me know what you think and let me know what you thought of the triangles story what was your take on it.
