Hey Guys Joag here again, Today I want to talk to you about my favorite things. Music, Autism, Books and the theatre.
This past tuesday as I started my first day of work. My mum informed me she had bought tickets to see my favorite book turned into a play. The Curious Incident of a dog in the night time. Yes I know you hate the term autism being applied to your book Mark Haddon but i want you to watch the play and see how it is acted out. You say “Christopher” has behavioral issues. From what I watched and his amazing memory recall he has more than behavioral issues. Maybe my eyes are biased to see autism where I look, but come on, the dislike of touch, the inability to accept what others are saying, the opinions he has. The strict inability to tell lies. Tell me are all these not pointing you to autism. If the play comes to your town or city please for the love of whatever you believe in go see it. It is amazing.
My favorite music right now has to be some of the autism music people are putting out there. Chelsea Stepp for instance. Her song for her sister “Beautiful Blessing”. Beautiful Blessing fills my heart with so much happiness I actually get goosebumps every time I listen to her amazing choral style voice. This song was written by Chelsea for her sister when she was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2. I would chat now and then to Chelsea through my real name on her youtube channel whenever she is not too busy looking after her gorgeous sister. I love her other music covers so much but this song you have to hear it to understand its beauty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiu9DKgBQu8

I can relate to it so much Sometimes when I melt down I feel trapped in a prison of my emotions. Maybe One Day I won’t be this way. That line is so powerful in supporting the advocacy of autism education. Maybe one day autism won’t be an issue less talked about, it will just be seen as another personality type in the great spectrum of the world.
For now these are my current autism favorites. What are yours?
